‘Rajavinte Makan’ going to be remade

The latest news from the malayalam film industry is that one of the greatest blockbusters of all time Rajavinte makan is going to be remade. Sources reports that the makers of the original movie is planning to remake the movie.New "Rajavinte Makan" is all set to begin by mid 2010.

Director Thampi Kannanthanam and script writer Dennis Joseph has been called on for the discussion by Mohanlal's man Friday Antony Perumbavoor. As per the latest reports the team has agreed to go in for a remake, rather than a sequel. The project to be produced by Ashirwad Cinema will also feature Suresh Gopi in the prominent role that he played in the original.

Words of Thampi Kannanthanam:“I promise the new movie will be gadget-friendly and the gizmos will not be overdone,”. “In 1986, Mohanlal was not a superstar while acting in the movie. Once it was released, Mohanlal’s stardom got an upward thrust. But, now Mohanlal is a superstar in Malayalam cinema. So the character, Vincent Gomez, will also have a new look, with new mannerisms and a new style. The biggest challenge is to present Vincent Gomez in the most appealing way to the new generation. Comparisons are bound to happen. But, that won’t deter me from making ‘Rajavinte Makan’ the way I want to,” added ThampiKannanthanam.“Malayalis take many of Vincent Gomez’s sharp dialogues by heart. So, we will not skip them in the new movie. But the situations will change,” said Kannanthanam.“Like Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi’s image has also changed. So, his character will also undergo some changes. We are now working on the rest of the cast and crew,” the director said. The remake also will have the same title,” he said, promising that the movie would be new experience to the audience.

Pooja for the new movie is on the 16th of July, the date on which the original movie was released. Lets wait for the stylish remake of the movie Rajavinte Makan.
