Shilpa and Raj to be engaged
Shilpa Shetty is finally getting engaged tomorrow to the man of her dreams - industrialist Raj Kundra. A source informs, "The engagement ceremony will be a simple and private one held at Raj's 7th floor flat in Juhu. It's very hush-hush and only close family and friends will attend. Shilpa and her family have decided to go ahead with engagement date after much deliberation and consultation with family astrologers, including her mother Sunanda."
Understandably, Shilpa was reluctant to have the ceremony in the absence of her sister Shamita who is currently holed up at the Bigg Boss house. "Shilpa was keen that Shamita too be a part of such a special event in her life but the time is extremely auspicious. Finally, she gave in to the pressure."
Shilpa's engagement outfit is a Manish Malhotra designed saree and choli in soft onion pink chiffon reflecting Shilpa's personality. Says a source, "The saree is simple with no embellishments like crystals or zari work, but a thin gold border.
The choli is vintage and in different shades of gold with gold tassels. The saree has been deliberately kept simple as Shilpa will be wearing heavy rubies, diamonds and emeralds in ornaments designed by Anmol Jewellers."
Shilpa and Shamita take a Break from IPL
Bollywood actress Shamita Shetty's hotel room in South Africa was ransacked by baboons.Shamita, who is accompanying her sister, actress Shilpa in South Africa, was on a safari in Singita Game Reserves with Shilpa and her beau Raj Kundra and some "close friends and family in tow".
"...It's been a great weekend. Shamita loved every bit of it till she went to her room and discovered her room was ransacked by the Baboons... apparently they knew where the mini bar is and we were warned when we checked in to keep all doors locked when we leave the room...Obviously someone didn't listen," Shilpa posted on her blog on Sunday.
The incident took place at the Singita Lebombo Lodge, where Shilpa and others were taking a break from the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Shilpa along with Kundra owns IPL team Rajasthan Royals.

Shilpa Shetty's knight in shining armour
Last evening, Raj Kundra gave Shilpa Shetty one more reason to fall in love with him. While Shilpa has time and again been rescued by macho heroes in films, this time it was beau Raj who played her real-life hero by rescuing her when a man tried to misbehave with her.
The incident in question happened when the entire Shetty family along with Raj and several film personalities were at the Golden Temple, Amritsar last evening to seek blessings. As expected, the crowd got uncontrollable on seeing the stars and suddenly a man touched Shilpa. A furious Raj bashed up the errant man.
An eyewitness said, “Everybody was on their way to the airport after the darshan and the parikramas at the Golden Temple. Raj, Shilpa and her family had to rush to the airport to catch the chartered flight back to Mumbai.”
“Since locals were aware that several celebrities were expected to visit the temple yesterday, a huge crowd had gathered to see the stars. The crowd was unmanageable but the organisers somehow managed to escort the celebrities.
Raj was rushing towards a bus in which they had come to the temple from the airport. Everybody had kept their bags and shoes in the bus and Shilpa, Shamita Shetty and their parents were following Raj.
Suddenly, one of the men in the crowd groped Shilpa and she screamed in disgust. Raj noticed what had happened and wasted no time in beating up the man. Raj punched the man's face several times. A stunned Shilpa kept telling Raj, 'Cookie (she fondly calls him Cookie) cool down,'” said the source.
“The policemen and the security guards rushed to control the situation. While they separated the two and took away the man who misbehaved with Shilpa, the organisers took Raj aside and calmed him down,” added the source.
Raj Kundra refused to divulge any details. He said, “It's too personal and I don't want to discuss anything.”

This week there has being lots of speculation in tinsel town, for instance the news of Shilpa Shetty planning to marry her boyfriend Raj Kundra in October. But it's not true as the marriage date is on the cards but not this October.
Shilpa Shetty’s close source revealed, “It’s wrong news that she is getting married this October with Raj Kundra. She is busy with the IPL and latter on getting into her films and her production house. She had told the media that she is planning to get married after October and media just made this news about her marriage.”
To make it clear Shilpa Shetty clears her stand about her marriage, “I got to know that I was getting married this October from the media. Just to clear the record in an interview that I did in London, I just said that I am looking forward to getting married sometime after October and haven’t thought of a month or a date. I will be more than happy to make an official announcement the day we are ready for marriage but for now the congratulatory calls can be kept on hold.”

The sexy actor was looking her smashing best at a party hosted by her and beau Raj Kundra to celebrate taking a stake in their cricket team and the launch of her spa. But Shilpa has another reason to celebrate. According to sources, on Valentine's Day, Raj gave her a huge (read: mega-bucks!) surprise by proposing to her with a diamond ring.
A friend says, "Shilpa didn't expect it at all. He went and chose this amazing looking ring on his own and surprised her by presenting it to her on Valentine's Day. Isn't that utterly romantic?"
Now that the ring is on the lady's hand, would a wedding be far behind? The friend says excitedly, "They might be planning to tie the knot by the end of this year!"
When we asked Shilpa, she giggled excitedly, "Raj is so exceptionally sweet! Ya, we will tie the knot, but not before the end of this year."
